Luxury Holiday in Rajasthan

Rajasthan was earlier called Rajputana meaning the country of the Rajputs. Later after India gained independence in 1947 all its princely states integrated into India one after the other and the state was names as Rajasthan which means the Abode of the Rajas (Kings).

Many of the palaces and forts build by the erstwhile kings were later converted into Museums or touristic forts which are now loved by tourists who are fascinated when they know about the history of those forts or palaces. Many of these establishments were also converted into Heritage Hotels which are now considered as one of the best hotel in the world.

Below itinerary gives you an experience to stay in such hotels and experience the ‘Maharaja Lifestyle’. The itinerary also covers visit to many other forts and palaces in the cities covered.

Ranthambore – An adventurous stay in a jungle

This year had been an exciting year, not only I got to see two National parks in distinct  parts of India, (Read:Bandipur) but also in two discrete terrains with different adventure altogether. I was never a person who would enjoy watching these wild beasts in their natural habitat, but these two trips certainly changed my perspective. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that I was in a land where the rules were different, where a day was marked with sunrise and sunset. Perhaps it came from the knowledge that the survival is only of the fittest. Whatever the reason, the very sight of an animal in its own territory, on its own terms, makes for a breathtaking moment and can change your perspective forever.

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India along with Federation of Associations of India Tourism & Hospitality (FAITH) is organising the first India Tourism Mart (ITM) – 2018 from September 16 – 18, 2018.

This national level event shall provide a common platform for buyers as well as sellers to exchange ideas and to increase business opportunities.

When I first thought of writing on the subject – Offbeat Destinations in India, I had somewhat structured my blog in my mind - picking one place from every corner of incredible India that I have visited, writing about it; Keeping it simple without making it too lengthy.  But as I started writing today, there was this incessant rain outside my huge French windows overlooking the Jaipur city.

Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) is an island nation south of India in the Indian Ocean. It's diverse landscapes range from rain forest and arid plains to highlands and sandy beaches. It’s famed for its ancient Buddhist ruins, including the 5th-century citadel Sigiriya, with its palace and frescoes. The city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's ancient capital, has many ruins dating back more than 2,000 years.

Buddhist Sector Tour in India

ABOUT BUDDHISM IN INDIA

Indian subcontinent is the place where Buddhism originated and later became a major world religion. This religion is based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama who was born as a prince of the ancient Kapilavastu Kingdom which is now in Lumbini, Nepal.

Many significant places connected to the early days of this religion are there in India.

Jaipur Literature Festival 2015

An outsider who has never been part of the Jaipur Literature Festival wonders what goes on for five days in the Diggi Palace, a 16th century palace part of which has been turned into heritage hotel in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The entire venue transforms into a carnival of writers, poets, authors, journalists, publishers, celebrities and socialites all under the same roof.

Yes, it is that time of the year when the world’s greatest free literary show is held in Jaipur.

There is something so mystical and exciting about being in a forest that for many of us, a visit to the wilderness ranks as one of our best holiday experiences. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that we are in a land where the rules are different, where a day is marked with sunrise and sunset. Perhaps it comes from the knowledge that the survival is only of the fittest.

A short trip to Amritsar, Dalhousie and Dharamshala (6 Nights and 7 days)

Dharamshala Tour:

Whether it's the incessant spinning of Buddhist prayer wheels, the splendour of the surrounding mountains, or simply the divine presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (who holds public lectures few times in a year), this largest Tibetan enclave outside of Tibet, at Dharamsala draws seekers of spiritual enlightenment from all over the world.
