Pushkar is the only place in the world where one can have the glimpses of Brahma temple. Pushkar becomes particularly alive during the annual Camel Fair in which hundreds of camel dealers from throughout Rajasthan ascend upon this small community to deal their trade.
Pushkar camel fair is a grand display of Rajasthan's cultural and social spirit - spell bounding folk music and dances, camel races, tug-of-war, camel beauty contests and all. During the fair, Pushkar turns into a bustling temporary tent town when thousands of tourists, pilgrims, local rural people, traders, and camels and more camels tread this otherwise sleepy setting. Visitors from around the world join in the fun, making for a week of immense sights, smells and culture which seems only possible in India. It is highly recommendable to visit during this time.
More often foreign tourist combine Pushkar with the famous Golden Triangle tour of India, which includes Delhi, Agra and Jaipur along with 2 days at the Pushkar festival, others go to Pushkar for a weekend getaway.
